Alliance & Wisconsin Paper Council Newest Associations to Sponsor 2002
Paper Summit
New York, NY – The NPTA Alliance, (formerly the National Paper Trade Association), and the Wisconsin Paper Council are the latest industry associations to sign on as primary sponsors of the 2002 Paper Summit, the leading pulp and paper industry equipment and technology exhibit in North America, scheduled for March 4-6, 2002 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. NPTA Alliance, headquartered in Farmingdale, NY, is the trade association for printing and reprographic papers, and for producers and distributors of packaging, disposables and janitorial and sanitary products. The Wisconsin Paper Council is one of the nation’s leading regional trade organizations, representing industry professionals from the top papermaking area in the U.S. These groups join AF&PA, a Washington, D.C.-based trade association for the forest, paper and wood industry; PIMA, an organization for management professionals in the pulp and paper industry; and TAPPI, a technical group for the global pulp, paper and converting industries, in support of the Paper Summit. This is the first time these five organizations have all officially sponsored the Paper Summit in the event’s 35-year history. As sponsors, these groups will assist in the promotion and marketing of the event to their combined membership, as well as participate in the Conference Advisory Committee. "We’re pleased to have the NPTA Alliance and Wisconsin Paper Council on board as sponsors of the 2002 Paper Summit," said Jane McDermott, show director. "These groups add two important new facets to the Summit – the paper distributors of American and professionals from the most active region in the U.S. for papermaking." "The NPTA Alliance is pleased to be a supporter of the leading technology and equipment exposition for the pulp and paper industry, " said Bill Frohlich, president of the NPTA Alliance. "NPTA is embarking on a partnering strategy that will bring a stronger focus to paper distribution and its central supply chain role. I think the Paper Summit is the perfect venue at which to do this because it attracts a large audience of industry suppliers." "We’re looking forward to participating in the Paper Summit because it is such a valuable event to our members," said Tom Schmidt, president of the Wisconsin Paper Council. "Wisconsin has led the nation in papermaking for over 45 years, producing more than 5.2 million tons of paper and over 1 million tons of paperboard, annually, so we believe we can provide valuable information to all attendees." About Paper Summit Started in the 1960’s, the Paper Summit – formerly known as "The TAPPI Show" – is the foremost pulp and paper industry equipment and technology exhibit in North America, and attracts more than 350 exhibitors and 9,000 visitors. Held every three years in Atlanta, it is the primary gathering place for paper company management and technical personnel to talk with suppliers, view equipment and make purchasing decisions. The 2002 Paper Summit is scheduled for March 4-6, 2002 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
